Reuben, a young boy from Kibera slums, cannot speak fluently; he stammers but is a good singer despite his handicap. His father, a laborer, is jailed after being accused of stealing a bag of cement from his employer. Reuben witnesses the judgment and vows to work hard to save his family and himself from similar problems in the future.

One day, Reuben finds an empty Paint tin and decides to make a guitar. His mother and neighbors are mesmerized by his creativity and music prowess. She requests the chief to give the boy a chance to perform during a public holiday. The chief links Reuben with a blind man, Daudi, also gifted in music. The two team up to produce a song and during the celebrations, they outshine everyone else. The Governor is impressed by Reuben’s performance and helps him to record his first song. Reuben’s circumstances and that of his mother changes for better.

This is a story of inspiration to children to explore their talents, and call to parents to support their children achieve their dreams.
